The Inspiring Journey Behind Sri Ragavendra Temple, Batu Arang, Selangor

I am Muniandy A/L S. Suppiah, the founder of Sri Ragavendra Temple in Batu Arang, Selangor. My journey to establishing this temple has been one of transformation, faith, and divine guidance.

A Life-Altering Experience

In my early years, I found myself in difficult circumstances due to the influence of undesirable company. As a result, I was imprisoned, which left me feeling completely lost, hopeless, and deeply saddened by my situation.

During this challenging time, I turned to prayer and began worshipping Lord Perumal daily. Seeking deeper spiritual knowledge, I started reading the Bhagavad Gita. Initially, I did not know how to read Tamil, but my eagerness to understand the Gita motivated me to learn. With my wife’s support, I acquired Tamil books and, within two weeks, I was able to read the language fluently. Reading the Bhagavad Gita in prison became a daily practice for me, and one of the key lessons I learned was that every human being needs a Guru to guide them.

One day, while reading the Gita, I came across a small book about Sri Ragavendra Swamy. This was a divine moment for me, and I immediately accepted him as my Guru. From that day on, I devoted my prayers to Sri Ragavendra Swamy and began experiencing a profound transformation in my life.

The Power of Devotion and Miracles

While still in prison, my wife informed me that my court case had been postponed for another year. This news devastated me, and I questioned why this was happening despite my prayers. I pleaded with Sri Ragavendra Swamy for help. Miraculously, just a week later, my wife visited again and told me that my case had been unexpectedly rescheduled for the following week. This was an unbelievable turn of events. Neither my lawyer nor I knew how or why the case was suddenly moved up.

Filled with renewed faith, I became confident that I would be released soon. Within a month, my prayers were answered—I was released from prison. I was overwhelmed with gratitude towards Sri Ragavendra Swamy, knowing that his divine intervention had changed my fate.

A Promise to Build a Temple

Upon returning home, I faced many struggles. My family was going through financial hardship, but I refused to give up. Despite the difficulties, my faith remained strong.

As I began visiting different Sri Ragavendra Ashrams, I realized that most were small and lacked proper facilities. It was then that I made a promise to build a temple for Sri Ragavendra Swamy—a place where devotees could come and seek his blessings. However, building a temple was no easy task. I needed land and strong financial backing.

Miraculously, around the same time, my business started growing. Prominent businessmen and companies began entrusting me with projects, and my financial situation improved significantly. Through Sri Ragavendra Swamy’s grace, I was able to buy a house and later secure land to build the temple.

The land I acquired was previously a mining lake, which required significant investment to fill with sand before any construction could begin. Initially, I was unsure whether to build a temple or an ashram, but one night, I had a vision. In my dream, I saw myself purchasing a flight ticket to Mantralayam, the sacred site of Sri Ragavendra Swamy. In that same dream, I also saw a statue of Sri Ragavendra Swamy.

The next day, I followed this divine message—I booked a flight and traveled to Mantralayam. Upon arriving, I was astonished to see the exact same statue of Sri Ragavendra Swamy that had appeared in my dream.

A Divine Gift from Mantralayam

Filled with devotion, I requested permission to bring the statue back to Malaysia. However, the authorities initially refused. Heartbroken, I began crying and praying deeply. At that moment, a kind gentleman approached me and asked why I was in distress. After hearing my story, he advised me to speak with another department.

Following his advice, I approached the concerned officials, who finally agreed to let me take the statue—but for a cost of RM 50,000. Without hesitation, I accepted the offer and requested my secretary in Malaysia to transfer the amount.

However, the very next day, an incredible miracle occurred. The official who had asked for payment called me and urgently instructed me to leave India immediately with the statue—without paying a single cent. He confessed that Sri Ragavendra Swamy had appeared in his dreams and tormented him, demanding that the statue be released to me without charge.

Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, I brought the statue to Malaysia. From that moment, everything fell into place, and the temple took shape effortlessly.

The Temple's Divine Design and Challenges

I firmly believe that the design of this temple was not planned by me or any human architect—it was guided entirely by Sri Ragavendra Swamy. Every time I prayed to him, I would receive visions that guided me step by step, from the temple’s structure to its intricate details.

Despite the divine guidance, we faced numerous challenges, especially during the Kumbhabhishekam (consecration ceremony). Just two days before the event, officers from Bandaraya Selayang issued an order to shut down the temple immediately. This left us all in complete shock and uncertainty.

In response, I placed my trust in divine intervention. I purchased a Panchamukhi Anjaneya (Five-Faced Hanuman) statue and, along with my team, prayed intensely for a solution.

A Final Divine Miracle

Another miracle unfolded—the very officer who ordered the temple’s closure was suddenly hospitalized due to kidney failure. Following this, another officer took charge and personally asked me about the issue. After I explained everything, he reassured me that the problem would be resolved within two hours.

True to his word, within two hours, the officer returned with official approval, granting us full permission to continue with the temple’s construction.

This was yet another confirmation that Sri Ragavendra Swamy was guiding and protecting us every step of the way. Every obstacle we faced in building this temple was resolved miraculously by his divine grace.

A Temple for All Devotees

Today, Sri Ragavendra Temple, Batu Arang stands as a sacred space for devotees to seek blessings, guidance, and spiritual growth. This temple is not just a place of worship—it is a testament to the unwavering power of faith, devotion, and the boundless grace of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

It is my heartfelt belief that this temple was built not by me, but by Sri Ragavendra Swamy himself, for the benefit of all his devotees. May his blessings continue to guide and protect all those who seek him.

Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha!
